This committee is also responsible for coordinating Section 4's scholarship selection process, as well as special committee events including:
MINI-CONFERENCE:
In 1992, Section 4 sponsored a local Mini-Conference. The idea was to provide similar educational experiences on a biennial schedule to fill the gap between local sponsorship of the Statewide Conference which Section 4 sponsors every 12 years.
This one-day conference, attended by approximately 125 engineers from the local community, enables attendees to enhance their technical background and increase professional training opportunities. The conference offers employees of Region 4, New York State Department of Transportation, the opportunity to expand their skills, better enabling them to perform their jobs as engineers and technicians. Local consulting engineers and local design professionals are also invited to share this day with their NYSDOT colleagues.
The Conference has included a lunch or dinner with our Annual Engineer of the Year presentation and is supported by local exhibitors of related transportation goods and services.
