Guests are most welcome to attend the Annual Conference. Consider one or all of the following activities that have been arranged to properly welcome your special guest to Rochester while you attend the Technical Program. There will be a nominal fee that includes the activity and transportation. Sign up for these activities when you register.

Tour of the George Eastman House- International Museum of Photography and Film

A bus will pick you up from the hotel lobby at 9:15am Wednesday morning to take you to the George Eastman House for a 10am tour. You will learn about the world’s oldest photography museum and one of the world’s oldest film archives, opened to the public in 1949 as an independent, non-profit museum. It combines the world’s leading collections of photography and film with the stately pleasures of the landmark Colonial Revival mansion and gardens that George Eastman called home from 1905 to 1932. The Museum is a National Historic Landmark. Mr. Eastman, the founder of Eastman Kodak Company, is heralded as the father of modern photography and motion picture film.

World-renowned for its photograph and motion picture archives, the Museum is also a leader in film preservation and photograph conservation, educating the top archivists and conservators from around the world. The new facility opened to the public in January 1989, and now houses more than 400,000 photographs and negatives; 28,000 films and more than 4 million film stills; 53,000 publications; and more than 25,000 pieces of technology. This tour will return at 12 noon.

$20.00 registration fee includes admission to the museum and transportation.

Sam Patch Cruise Along the Historic Erie Canal in Pittsford
Wednesday, May 8 from 1:15pm to 4 p.m.

After lunch, meet in the lobby at 1:15pm to take a short ride to Pittsford to board the packet boat replica Sam Patch and embark on an opportunity to experience history and enjoy relaxing getaways that showcase the beauty and ingenuity of America's celebrated Erie Canal. A spectacular, heroic feat of engineering, the canal is considered by many to be the eighth wonder of the world. Light refreshments will be available for purchase on the boat.

$20 registration fee includes cruise and transportation. Registration is limited to 30. Please note this cruise is dependent on the opening of the Erie Canal navigation season. Should the cruise be cancelled, all money will be refunded

Tour of the Rochester Public Market
Thursday, May 9 from 8:15am to 11:30am.

Have a light breakfast on Thursday to save room for the culinary delights from the vendors at the Rochester Public Market. Board the bus at 8:15am to travel to the Market for a tour at 9am and time to explore/shop on your own. Rochester's Public Market has served the community since 1905. Local vendors offer their fresh produce, ethnic delicacies, specialty items, and so much more. In addition, an array of independent local businesses is anchored on Market grounds and in the surrounding Market District. This tour will take place rain or shine. The bus will return by 11:30am.

$10 registration fee includes transportation and a donation to the Friends of the Public Market, who graciously provided the tour.

Lake Ontario Wine Tour

Rochester is just a short drive from wine country! Grab your boxed lunch and board the bus at 12:15pm from the hotel lobby to head towards Casa Larga Winery. A tour of the winery will given at 1p.m. following by a tasting. Then, we will travel across the county line to JD Wine Cellar for a tasting. Then, enjoy a relaxing drive along Lake Ontario to Young Sommer Wine Cellar for another tasting. Wines and other gifts will be available for purchase. The bus will return to the hotel by 5:30 pm.

$40 registration fee includes transportation, tasting fees, and a boxed lunch including a sandwich, an apple, chips, a cookie and a bottle of water that will be served on the bus. Please indicate if you prefer a meat or veggie sandwich when you register. Registration is limited to 50.
